Susan is a native of southern California and holds Bachelor of Art History from the University of California Los Angeles and a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois, Chicago. She is Licensed in the state of California. While working for a Chicago based firm she participated in a variety of project types including museums, custom residential, and historical restoration of state buildings and private clubs. Returning to Los Angeles she worked on larger scale institutional projects, learning the unique technical requirements for a high-profile performing arts center in southern California and a U.S. Embassy in Europe. She loves local and long-distance travel and in her trips to Europe and around the U.S. she is continually interested in the urban fabric and walkable cities.
Susan joined Appleton Partners in 2005 and has since practiced on numerous residential projects of varying scale throughout southern California, taking them from schematic design through construction. She enjoys supporting staff with project development as well as collaborating with office leaders to improve upon Appleton Partner’s high standards of project delivery.
